It is owned by the Logan County Board.[1] The airport is also the site of the National Weather Service Central Illinois (Central Illinois Forecast Office).

Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this airport is assigned AAA by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA[2] (which assigned AAA to Anaa Airport in Anaa, French Polynesia[3]).
