Wainfleet is a farming township in southern Niagara Region of Ontario, Canada. The township had a population of 6,601 in the Canada 2006 Census.[1]

There is a small and growing tourist industry, near and on Lake Erie at the southern area of Wainfleet called Long Beach. Wainfleet is also the home of the Marshville Heritage Village, a living history museum, recreating life in Ontario circa 1850-1910.[2]

The township comprises the communities of Becketts Bridge, Belleview Beach, Burnaby, Camelot Beach, Chambers Corners, Forks Road, Long Beach, Marshville, Morgan's Point, O'Reilly's Bridge, Ostryhon Corners, Perry, Wainfleet, Willow Bay and Winger.

Tony Dekker, singer/songwriter/guitarist for indie folk band Great Lake Swimmers, grew up on a farm in Wainfleet. A&E Network personality Tanya Memme is also a native of Wainfleet.

The township's 2006 population of 6,601 was a growth of 5.5 per cent over its population of 6,258 in the Canada 2001 Census.[1]
