Loris is located at 34°3′32″N 78°53′28″W / 34.05889°N 78.89111°W (34.058760, -78.891058)[3].
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.1 square miles (8.0 km2), of which, 3.1 square miles (8.0 km2) of it is land and 0.32% is water.

- The Coast RTA [5] - Bus system operating seven days a week, 364 days a year. 15 routes throughout the Horry County/Grand Strand area, including Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Conway, Loris, and Aynor.
As of May 2008, Coast has not served Loris.

The annual Loris Bog-off is held on the second weekend in October, in the downtown Loris area. Chicken bog,[6] is a dish of chicken, rice, sausage and spices; that originated in the Pee Dee area of South Carolina. The Loris Bog-off features carnival-type rides, concessions, regional performers, and petting zoo animals.
There are several fast-food restaurants including: Kentucky Fried Chicken, Hardee's, Subway, Pizza Hut, Domino's Pizza, Wendy's, and McDonald's.
A variety of locally-owned and operated restaurants are also available. They include: Fowler's Grill, Shorty's Grill, American Hero, Backstreet Cafe, Casa Villa, Loris Seafood, Sidekick's Cafe, Altman's Seafood, Tokyo Express and Santino's Pizza.
