LA County+USC Medical Center (alternatively LAC+USC Medical Center or County+USC Medical Center) is a Metro Silver Line station on the El Monte Busway (Interstate 10/San Bernardino Freeway) located near the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center in Boyle Heights. The Metro Silver Line station is approximately 5 minutes away from the LAC+USC Medical Center. The station is somewhat isolated from the medical center and other nearby bus connections. In order to access the station passengers need to walk south on Kingston Avenue or Brittania Avenue.The station entrance is located on the intersection of Pomeroy Avenue and Kingston Avenue. There are no buses which directly stop at the station. Passengers will need to get off at Marengo Avenue and State Street and then walk south to the station on Kingston Avenue. Select trips of Metro Local Line 251 end at this station during the early morning peak hour time. During the morning peak hour times, three trips of Line 251 going southbound begin at the station's entrance. During Sundays/Holidays between the hours of 11:10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., select Line 251 trips end and begin at the station. During other times, passengers will need to walk to the station entrance. Northbound trips of Metro Shuttle Line 620 stop close to the station at State/Pomeroy Avenue. With the "Silver 2 Silver" program, Metro Silver Line passengers who have Metro passes can use the Foothill Transit's Silver Streak bus between Downtown Los Angeles and El Monte Station at no additional charge. Similarly, Foothill Transit Silver Streak riders may use their passes on the Metro Silver Line between El Monte Station and Downtown Los Angeles.
The Metro Silver Line station uses an island platform layout. The entrance to the station is provided by a bridge that can be accessed from Pomeroy Avenue. One platform is for eastbound Metro Silver Line buses to El Monte Station and the other platform is for westbound Metro Silver Line buses to Downtown Los Angeles & Harbor Gateway Transit Center. The station can be accessed from the bridge by stairs and an elevator. Local buses stop on the upper street level on Marengo/State street bus stop.
With the exception of northbound Metro Shuttle Line 620 trips and select Metro Local Line 251 select trips all local buses can be accessed at the Marengo/State Street bus stop. There are no current bus routes which directly serve the Metro Silver Line Station. The closest southbound Metro Shuttle Line 620 bus stop to the station is on State St./Marengo.
