Los Angeles magazine is a monthly regional magazine of national stature. Published by Emmis Communications and produced monthly since the spring of 1961, LA Magazine is a combination of award-winning feature writing, investigative reporting, service journalism, and design, the definitive resource and indispensable guide for Angelenos. They are devoted to covering the people, lifestyle, culture, entertainment, fashion, art and architecture, and news that define Los Angeles and Southern California.

It was first published in 1961. It was purchased by CHC in 1973. ABC bought the magazine in 1977. ABC was eventually bought by The Walt Disney Company, who sold Los Angeles to Emmis in 2000[2].
