"Lost Cause" is the fifth song by Beck from his fifth major-label studio album, Sea Change. It was released as a promo single.

Two music videos were made for "Lost Cause", both being directed by Garth Jennings. The original video features an effigy of Beck falling from the sky.[1] It was produced entirely in Adobe Photoshop. The second version just features the band playing the song.

- The song was featured prominently in the Ben Stiller movie, Along Came Polly.
- A version appears on the 2007 compilation album, The Saturday Sessions: The Dermot O'Leary Show
- The song title and album art is also featured on various screenshots of the iPod Touch on the Apple website.
- The song appears in the Scrubs episode, "My New Game".
- Good Charlotte recently posted a downloadable cover on their website.
- Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Chiara Angelicola, AKA Bird Call, released a version on her 'Other Creatures' EP in May 2011.
