Love At First Fight (Chinese: 武十郎; pinyin: wu shi lang) is a Chinese Martial arts and Romantic Comedy television series, starring Hong Kong actress Miriam Yeung , Taiwan-born Wallace Huo, American-born-Taiwanese George Hu, Zhang Meng, Bai Xue and Jia Nai Liang. The story set in the era of modern China, where the main character Wu Shi Lang has to tackle friendship, dream, family relationship, and first love with a gender twist.

The story began one early morning at the Wu Residence, where Wu Ding Dang dressed up for his marriage procession with a fat lady (which is arranged by his mother). On the other hand, Wu Ding Dang's wife was giving birth to her tenth child. Wu Ding Dang's mother was frustrated with her daughter-in-law for laboring nine granddaughters but no grandson for her.Therefore she strongly persuaded her son to remarry. Meanwhile, Wu Ding Dang's wife, Wu Liang Shi who nervously wanted to bring a son to the family was surprised, when she delivered another baby girl. Afraid of what was to happen, she quickly changed the baby girl with another baby boy to overwhelm her mother-in-law and husband. The baby is named Wu Shi Lang.

In order to hide from Wu Ding Dang; Wu Shi Lang lived as a boy until she became an adult. She dressed, walked, talked and behaved like a boy and everyone in the family believed she was a boy. Her childhood companion was Li Ya Shou and she admired him a lot. Li Ya Shou was an orphan and the son of Wu Ding Dang's best friend so he lived in the Wu Residence.

The story also featured the Lei family, a wealthy and powerful family in the town. The Lei family were, Lei Lao Hu (the matriarch), Lei Xiao Yu (a beautiful young lady), Lei Sheng Da (a good-looking and childish gentleman) and Chang Ling Lu (the housekeeper).

Li Ya Shou was attracted with the Lei family's wealth and he began to love Lei Xiao Yu because of this. On the other hand, Lei Sheng Da fell in love with Wu Shi Lang (when she dresses like girl during the night day). Both, Wu Shi Lang and Lei Sheng Da accidentally met at the bridge, where Lei Sheng Da asked for directions. Meanwhile Wu Shi Lang was upset with Li Ya Shou for calling her a ghost when she wore a dress. After a long talk, both of them had a fight and eventually, Lei Sheng Da fell in love in the first fight.

The story also showed that the Wu and Lei family were related many years ago. When Wu Ding Dang and Lei Lao Hu were teenagers, they were lovers according to Lei Lao Hu. On the other hand, Wu Ding Dang said that Lei Lao Hu forced him to marry her. Both argued about this in front of their children. This stopped when Wu Ding Dang promised Lei Lao Hu that he will talk about it later, if Lei Lao Hu lets him go. During this time, Wu Liang Shi revealed the fact that Wu Shi Lang is a girl. This surprised Wu Ding Dang. The Wu family returned home and planned to move-out from Shi Li town to Qing Mao town, in order to escape from Lei Lao Hu.

The story also showed other characters, such as Lin Chi and A Hao. Lin Chi and A Hao grew up as orphans in Qing Mao town. Although both of them love each other, they were unable to express their love. This was because Lin Chi was a poor carpenter and A Hao was a materialistic woman who only wanted to marry a rich man. A Hao was a distant relative of the Wu family so she allowed them to shelter in her home while they were living in Qing Mao town. During this time, the Lei family came to the town in search of the Wu family.

The story became interesting, when everyone reached Qing Mao town. Lei Xiao Yu begins to accept Li Ya Shou, while A Hao fell in love with Lei Sheng Da. Only Wu Shi Lang felt lonely, because her beloved Li Ya Shou belongs to another woman, and from there she began to accept Lei Sheng Da as a best friend. Although the naive Lei Sheng Da thought that it was the first move to win her heart.

The story ended with Wu Shi Lang and Li Ya Shou becoming lovers, while Lei Xiao Yu found her true love in Chang Ling Lu and they got married. A Hao finally realized that money is not everything and accepted Lin Chi as her husband. Only the poor Lei Sheng Da had no partner because he only wanted to bless Wu Shi Lang happiness. And to make Wu Shi Lang happy was to let her be with the one she loves the most which is Li Ya Shou.

  • Wu Shi Lang (Miriam Yeung) Female, 25 years old; She is the main character of this story. Wu Shi Lang is a humble and responsible person. She has a good martial arts skill, learned from her father Wu Ding Dang. Wu Shi Lang fights for justice in the towns Shi Li and Qing Mao and appreciates her friendship with Li Ya Shou. At the end, she begins to love Li Ya Shou and Lei Sheng Da.
  • Li Ya Shou (Wallace Huo) Male, 24 years old; His parents died when he was young. Li Ya Shou is optimistic, loyal, and materialistic. He wishes to marry a rich and beautiful woman, so it can change his life as a poor man. Although Li Ya Shou is very lazy and boastful, he also appreciates the friendship with Wu Shi Lang, and fights for justice.
  • Lei Sheng Da (George Hu) Male, 26 years old; He is a tall, good-looking and talented gentleman. Lei Sheng Da is heavily influenced by Western culture. He is the son of Lei Lao Hu and the younger brother of Lei Xiao Yu. He and his sister Lei Xiao Yu both have an extreme belief in love. Lei Sheng Da falls in love with Wu Shi Lang the first time he sees her. He is optimistic and smiles even having hard times. Lei Sheng Da inherits his mother's martial arts and has good skill in kung fu.
  • Lei Xiao Yu (Zhang Meng) Female, 28 years old; She is a tall and beautiful woman. Lei Xiao Yu dreams for a true hero to appear and protect her. There are several men that she thought of as her true love, such as Wu Shi Lang, Li Ya Shou and Lin Chi. But, in the end she falls in love with her housekeeper, Chang Ling Lu, and they get married.
  • Wu Ding Dang (Zhang Guo Li) Male, 50 years old; He is the patriarch of the Wu family and inherits the great Wu family martial arts. In the beginning he opens a martial arts school, but later he manages a traditional herbal pharmacy.
  • Lei Lao Hu (Bai Bing Bing) Female, 40 years old; She is the mother of Lei Sheng Da and Lei Xiao Yu. She only cares for her money and how to become richer. She is good at martial arts and running her businesses.
  • Ah Hao (Bai Xue) Female, 27 years old. She is a restaurateur. Her materialistic character makes her ignore her real love. At first the thought money is everything for her, but later she accepts her fate and marries Lin Chi.
  • Lin Chi (Jia Nai Liang) Male, 28 years old. He is a naive but responsible man. He only wants to live a simple life as a carpenter. At the end of the story, he becomes rich and inherits his aunt's properties.
