Lowe and Partners is an international advertising agency headquartered in London. The Agency is a unit of the Interpublic Group, one of the world's largest advertising agency holding companies. Lowe has a complex history tracing back to the foundation of Lintas in 1899. Lintas was born out the rapid growth of the British soap maker Lever Brothers. Lever Brothers saw rapid international expansion in the late 1880s and through the 1890s to the point where no single advertising and promotions agency could assist them in every country in which Lever was doing business. As a result, William Hesketh Lever and his brother James Darcy Lever, the founders of Lever Brothers, developed their own in-house advertising department and thus (Lever International Advertising Service) or LINTAS was born. Lintas, therefore, is one of the world's first advertising agencies and following some large mergers and rapid growth in the 70s and 80s became a dominant and famous force in the advertising field with accounts such as IBM, Mastercard, Johnson and Johnson and Unilever. In 1981 Sir Frank Lowe set up Lowe Howard-Spink developing world famous campaigns for Absolut, Birds Eye and Heineken while growing rapidly. Following mergers with the then Ammirati Puris Lintas, Lowe and Partners became the fourth largest advertising agency in the world in 2000.
In January 2014, Lowe and Partners acquired global digital marketing agency network Profero, creating Lowe Profero. Profero was founded in London in 1998 by Wayne Arnold and his brother, Daryl Arnold. It launched in Asia before coming to North America in 2008 and now has eleven offices across the globe.
Lowe and Partners is consistently ranked among the most awarded agency networks in the world. In addition to multiple local, regional and global creative awards, 33 Lions - including 10 gold - were won at the 2014 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Among the Lions won in 2012, was the coveted Titanium Lion presented to Lowe SSP3 for their 'Rivers of Light' campaign for the Colombian Ministry of Defense. The same campaign also won a D&AD Black Pencil. In 2013/2014 Lowe and Partners took home over 100 Effie awards, and has now topped the annual Effie index, in terms of points per dollar revenue, for the past four years running.
