Luis Gustavo Ledes Evangelista dos Santos (born 28 September 1992), known as Luis Gustavo or Gus Ledes, is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Rio Ave F.C. as a central midfielder.

Club career[edit]

Born in Braga, Portugal to a Brazilian who played nine years in the country with five clubs, namely with S.C. Braga from 1987 to 1991, Luis Gustavo joined FC Barcelona's youth academy in 2006 at nearly 14. He was promoted to the B-team five years later.[1]

Gustavo made his official debut for the side on 29 October 2011, in a 1–0 home win against Gimnàstic de Tarragona for the Segunda División championship.[2] On 3 June 2012, in the season's last round, he scored his first professional goal, starting and contributing to a 6–0 away win over Xerez CD.[3]

On 30 May 2013 Gustavo's contract expired, and he was told by the Catalans that he would be released.[4] On 11 July he returned to Portugal, signing a four-year deal with Rio Ave FC.[5]
