Luis Antonio Marín Barahona (born May 18, 1983 in Valparaíso, Chile) is a Chilean football goalkeeper who currently plays for Sporting Kansas City.

Career[edit]

Club career[edit]

Marin began his professional career playing for Audax Italiano from 2003 to 2006, and later in 2007 he joined Lota Schwager. On 2008, Marín was signed by Unión Española. His play with Española led to being selected for the Chile national football team to play in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. After this tournament, in 2011 he signed for O'Higgins and was captain of the team, reaching the final of the Torneo Apertura 2012, losing with Universidad de Chile on the penalty shoot-out, club that in 2013 signed Marín on loan for 2 years, with his contract concluding in 2015. On December 18th, 2014, Marin signed a contract with Sporting KC of Major League Soccer.

International career[edit]

On 12 May 2010, Marín was named in Chile's provisional 30 man squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, before this event, Marín was called to the matches of Chile against Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago and Mexico, in these matches, he conceded one goal, against Mexico in a of 1-0 loss.
