Lumahai Beach

Lumahai Beach (Hawaiian: Lumahaʻi) is a beach on Kauai's northern shore. The beach became famous in the 1958 film South Pacific. Located off of Hawaii Route 560 between Hanalei and Ha'ena State Park, Lumahai is considered a highly picturesque area and attracts many visitors. Despite its appeal to tourists, the beach's geography makes it extremely unsafe for swimming and surfing most of the year due to strong waves, currents and undertow. [1]
