Lumeta Corporation is a privately held company that is headquartered in Somerset, New Jersey,  which develops network mapping software, network discovery software and network leak detection software.
The first generation of Lumeta's technology was developed in 1998 at Bell Labs by Bill Cheswick and Hal Burch, and was known as the Internet Mapping Project. Lumeta spun out from Bell Labs in 2000 and used the original technology as a basis for creating the company's product IPsonar.
Lumeta IPsonar is a network mapping, network leak detection and network discovery software . The product gathers information about the network including discovery of all IP-connected devices on a network, and how they are interconnected, locating previously unknown IP addresses and gathering information about the devices and services on the network.  IPsonar’s Leak Discovery tests devices on the network for inbound and outbound connectivity.  The product also has the capability to discover rogue wireless access points. 
Lumeta is run by a board of directors whose members are as follows: Tom B. Dent (Chairman of the Board), Ross H. Goldstein, Frank Pinto, Scot Sedlacek, and Thomas M. Uhlman. The company’s investors include Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Draper Fisher Jurvetson Gotham Ventures, New Venture Partners LLC, RBC Technology Ventures Inc., and Wachovia Strategic Ventures.
