Luxury is the second album from Fantastic Plastic Machine. It is the follow-up to his 1997 debut album. Luxury is a continuation of his previous work in Shibuya-kei, though in some tracks there are indications of a shift towards house music and '70s Philly soul, a path he would explore more in his next album, beautiful. The track "There Must Be an Angel (Playing With My Heart)", is a cover version of a Eurythmics song. Vocals on the Luxury version are performed by Lorraine Bowen. Her vocals also appear on the track "Bossa for Jackie".

US and European version

On the U.S. and European release, the tracks and the trackorder are different:

• "There Must Be an Angel" is replaced with a different mix.
• "The Green Door" is replaced with an instrumental version, "The Girl Next Green Door."^{[citation needed]}
• Track 4 is now an English version of "Electric Lady Land", while the original Japanese version comes as a bonus track.
• The track "MPF" is now titled "mpf (Mezzo Pianoforte)", but the track remains the same.
