Métier, Limited is a project portfolio management company[1] founded in 1998. Métier’s products and services include proprietary PPM software, called PPM Central and PPM virtual consulting services, called PMO Central. The company has offices in Santa Rosa, California and Arlington, Virginia.

Métier was ranked as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2009.[2]

Métier’s offering[3] consists of the PPM Central software and PMO Central managed services. PPM Central was launched in 2011[4] is the successor of Métier’s WorkLenz. Métier’s is registered with PMI’s Registered Consultant Program,[5] and is also available through Apps.gov.[6]

In 2009 Forrester evaluated 14 project portfolio management (PPM) vendors using 89 criteria. Métier was named a leader in The Forrester Wave™: Project Portfolio Management, Q4 2009 (December 2009).[7]

Margo Visitacion, Vice President of Forrester Research stated, "Métier's history has been primarily in the public sector arena; however, its taxonomy driven approach can help immature organizations across a number of industries start to build better processes and more mature organizations get to the next level. Its WorkLenz product provides collaboration to help users work together more effectively; reporting is robust and easy to access and distribute."[8]

Métier is a member of PMI’s Registered Consultant Program.[9] The program is designed to fulfill the worldwide demand for PPM consulting firms. PMI maintains a list of consulting firms qualified to provide guidance for project, program, and portfolio management practices. Métier was awarded membership to this program in July 2011.

Métier is also a Registered Education Provider with PMI.[10] The Registered Educator Program certifies organizations to issue Professional Development Units towards CAPM or PMP certification.

In 2010 Métier was named a finalist for Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year at the Stevie Awards for Women in Business.[11]

The Stevie Awards named Métier’s Protectors to Project Managers the Community Involvement Program of the Year in 2011.[12] The program is designed to give back to America’s Wounded Warriors by providing project management training, PMI certification, and professional development coaching preparation for new careers as certified project managers.
