Raja Mohan (born 15 January 1976) is an Indian film director, primarily working in the Tamil film industry. As of 2013, he has directed seven films, all of them being remakes.[1] His films mostly feature his brother Jayam Ravi in the lead and are produced by his father, editor Mohan under his home production studio, Jayam Company.

Career[edit]

Raja was born to Mohan S, editor of South Indian cinema and Varalakshmi from Tirumangalam, Madurai.[2] Raja is the elder brother of actor, Jayam Ravi.[3] He made his directorial debut in Telugu with Hanuman Junction, a remake of the Malayalam film Thenkasi Pattanam, which remains his only non-Tamil project.[4] His next film, Jayam, a remake of the same-titled Telugu film, introduced his brother Jayam Ravi in the lead role. His subsequent directorials, M. Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi, Unakkum Enakkum, Santosh Subramaniam all featured his brother in the lead role and emerged commercial successes. His fifth film Thillalangadi with his brother again was an average grosser. He finished Velayudham with Vijay which released in 2011 which was a blockbuster.[5] Raja will be making his acting debut in Enna Satham Indha Neram.[6]
