Metal Skin Panic MADOX-01 (メタルスキンパニック MADOX-01 Metaru Sukin Panikku Madokkusu Zero Wan?) is a 1987 anime OAV released in Japan. It has been licensed in the United States by AnimEigo[1] The plot centers on a mechanic named Koji Kondo who accidentally comes across the Madox-01, a small mecha (akin to a heavy powered armor suit) designed to fight enemy tanks. When Koji accidentally ends up in the Madox before thoroughly reading the user manual, the machine will not let him leave. As the military comes after him to reclaim it, Koji has no choice but to defend himself.

American internet satirist George Ouzounian, author of The Best Page in the Universe, said that he created his pen name Maddox after MADOX-01.[2]
