The MBTA Boat system is a public boat service providing water transport in the Greater Boston area via Boston Harbor. Both inner harbor and longer distance commuter ferries are operated. The services are actually operated by private sector companies under contract to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA).
In fiscal year 2005, the MBTA boat system carried 4,650 passengers (0.41% of total MBTA passengers) per weekday.[1]

[edit] Commuter Boat
- F1 – Service from Rowes Wharf in downtown Boston to Hewitt's Cove in Hingham, operated by Boston Harbor Cruises.[2]
- F2 and F2H – Services from Long Wharf in downtown Boston and Logan International Airport to Pemberton Point in Hull and Fore River Shipyard in Quincy, operated by Water Transportation Alternatives under the brand Harbor Express.[3][4][5]
