Host(s) Wyclef Jean
Network MTV Networks International (Europe)

The Globe in Stockholm became the stop for the seventh Europe Music Awards. The freezing weather was overshadowed by the heat of original Fugee Wyclef Jean host performance.

The show was a star-studded extravaganza and featured 12 different production sets as the artists all tried to outshine one another. Jennifer Lopez entered the arena from the ceiling in a specially built plane to perform "Love Don't Cost a Thing", Ricky Martin sang "She Bangs" surrounded by tanks of underwater dancers and Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue teamed up for a rendition of "Kids". The Spice Girls performance was their last before their disbandment and appeared on the same set list as Madonna[1] (who sported a Kylie T-shirt whilst singing "Music"), U2 and Moby.

Just some of the presenters on the night included Kelis, Madonna’s husband Guy Ritchie, Moby and Heidi Klum.

The Free Your Mind award was won by Otpor! for their anti-Milošević protests.
