MTV (Music Television) Türkiye is the Turkish subsidiary of MTV, officially launched on October 23, 2006. The first broadcast of the channel was Nil Karaibrahimgil's music video Peri.
The channel plans to combine local and international music, and airs such trademark MTV shows like Jackass, Pimp My Ride, I Bet You Will, Dirty Sanchez, Wild Boyz, Viva la Bam, Celebrity Deathmatch, Life of Ryan and I Want A Famous Face with subtitles in Turkish.
The opening party was held on 17 November 2006 in Istanbul, with a Pussycat Dolls performance.
