MTV Unplugged is a live album by Colombian artist Shakira. The performance was released in 2000 as a live album, and again in 2002 as a DVD. The performance was recorded in August 1999 in New York City, New York. It is rated as one of the best-ever live performances from a Latin recording artist. It was critically acclaimed by American critics and earned Shakira the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. To date, the album has sold over 5 million copies.[citation needed]
