MTX is an automobile that has been made in Czechoslovakia and now in the Czech Republic by MTX R5 sp.o.o of Prague since 1969. MTX is short for Metalex. Originally, it was a repair shop for Škoda racers.
The first single-seater racer ""MTX 1-01", appeared in 1970. During the 1980s, Formula Easter cars, autocross buggies and rally cars (based on Škoda and Lada) were produced. In 1989 - 1990 Skoda Rapid convertible was made in a few copies in cooperation with the German Heinzinger firm. In the 1990s, the company made 2 models: MTX Roadster (based on Škoda Favorit) and MTX Cabrio (based on Škoda Felicia). During the 1990s, a model named MTX Tatra Sport was made in 4 copies. It was the fastest czech car of all time. Under the hood lies V8 169 kW, 6000 rpm. from 0 to 100 will be given as 5.6 seconds. Maximum speed reaches is 265 km/h. In 2010 the car appeared in Kanye West film Runaway.
