Macbeth is an Italian gothic metal band formed in 1995. Signed to Dragonheart Records, they have been releasing albums since 1998.[1]

Formerly known as Land of Dark Souls, the band was inspired by the combination of gothic imagery and music, and the members have been known for contrasting dual female/male vocals. [1]
Founded in 1995 by the drummer Fabrizio Cislaghi, Macbeth debuted with "Romantic Tragedy's Crescendo" in 1998 after releasing a very successful demo tape called "Nocturnal Embrace". The feedback on their first album, was extremely positive.
After important live dates the band went through some line-up changes. With a new line-up, in 2001, Macbeth entered the studio to work on their second album “Vanitas”. “Vanitas” showed a more aggressive approach, without losing the romantic side of the band’s style.
In 2005 the band released the third album “Malae Artes”.
The singer Morena also began a collaboration with the musical project Rezophonic and the music channel Rock TV in 2007.
Macbeth released their fourth studio album, Superangelic Hate Bringers, in 2007. The album contains their best known song, "Without You".
It was recently announced that the band is actually working on new material for the fifth studio album.
