Madeira Island Ultra Trail

The Madeira Island Ultra Trail (also referred to as MIUT) is a mountain race or ultramarathon. It takes place once a year on the Portuguese island of Madeira. The distance of the main race is approximately 116 km. The event is organised by an association called Clube de Montanha do Funchal.
Today, the Madeira Island Ultra Trail consists of the following races listed in rank of difficulty:-
- UT115: offers 4 qualifying points for the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (116 km)
- UT85: offers 2 qualifying points for the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (85 km)
- Trail 42: Downhill race (42 km)
- Trail 20: Easiest race which takes in the Laurel forest of Madeira
