Majd (Arab. مجد, Maĝd), Arabic name, which means "glory", "praise", "usefulness", or "effort". Majd al-Daula is a famous carriers of it. This name can be given to both males and females.
In German the word Magd refers to a permanently employed female (farm) hand. The male role equivalent is "Knecht". The surname Magd is not very common.
