Malmöhus County (Swedish: Malmöhus län) was a county of Sweden until 1997 when it was merged with Kristianstad County to form Skåne County. It had been named after Malmöhus, a castle in Malmö, which also was where the governor originally resided.
The county was established in 1699 as a part of Denmark but became a part of Sweden in 1720.
