Margaret ('Peg') Hewitt George (born 1928) is an American author and former Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

George was the first woman and first Democrat on the local school board, being named as the director of the Pennsylvania Department of Education's Office of State and Federal Relations.[1]

From 1977 until 1980, George served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as the first woman and only Democrat to have represented her legislative district (Bucks County, 143rd District).[2][3]
