In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, a margoyle is a type of gargoyle.

Publication history[edit]

The marlgoyle first appears in the module The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth (1982),[1] and later appears in Monster Manual II (1983) as the margoyle.[2]

The margoyle appears in the second edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons under the "gargoyle" entry in the Monstrous Compendium Volume Two (1989),[3] and is reprinted in the Monstrous Manual (1993).[4]

The margoyle, or marlgoyle, is a more horrid form of gargoyle.
