The Mari-Udmurt War was a legendary war in the 13th century between the Mari people and Udmurt people just before the Mongol invasion of Volga Bulgaria. As the result of the war the Udmurts were supplanted to the modern Udmurtia, ceding a territory of the modern Mari El.
