Maria (born Maria Jensen) is a Danish R&B singer and songwriter. Although she was born in Denmark, she grew up in different parts of Europe. Despite her parents' initial hesitation and the fact that she did not come from a musical family, Maria decided to pursue a career as a singer. She was eventually discovered and signed by Soulshock, from the famous writing and production duo Soulshock & Karlin, to Soulpower/Dreamworks Records. Her first single which had success on RnB and Top 40 radio was titled "I Give, You Take". She then released her debut album, My Soul, on September 30, 2003. However Dreamworks Records failed to follow up promotion for a 2nd single (as they have done with other acts such as Lifehouse and Floetry) and she was dropped, when Dreamworks Records was sold and shortly before the label folded.

Maria's offical comeback to the stage was with the Producer HOLBEK Singing the song "HUDLØS" from HOLBEK's critically acclaimed album "FRITLØB" Featuring some of Denmark's best vocalist

Maria is currently working on new songs for her EP " Oh So Full Of Promise" out in 2012

She wrote 5 songs for Saseline's 2010 debut album Restart. She co-wrote 2/3 of Mikkel Solnado's 2011 debut album, "IT'S ONLY LOVE GIVE IT AWAY", including the hit single "BACK TO LIFE", which reached #7 on Mtv in Portugal Maria also produced the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGFJdWZOcWg
