Mariastein is the smallest municipality in the Kufstein district and is located 4 km north above Wörgl as well as 11,50 km southwest of Kufstein. It has become a place of pilgrimage since a „Wonder of Mary“ in the 18th century. The community is a Living tower on a rock (42 metres / 150 stairs).
