[edit] Ultimate Fighting Championship
Originally, Mario tried out for the The Ultimate Fighter 11 but, in February 2010, the UFC announced they had signed Miranda to a contract.
He made his debut for the organization against Gerald Harris at UFC Fight Night: Florian vs. Gomi, losing for the first time in his career by TKO in the first round.[1]
Miranda faced David Loiseau on June 12, 2010 at UFC 115.[2] He won the fight via TKO in the second round.
Miranda lost to Demian Maia via unanimous decision on August 28, 2010 at UFC 118.[3]
Miranda made his fourth UFC appearance against Aaron Simpson on March 26, 2011 at UFC Fight Night 24.[4] Throughout the fight Miranda was dominated on ground, and eventually lost the fight via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26).
Following the loss to Simpson, Miranda was subsequently released from the promotion.[5]
