Mark Evans is a TV presenter and Veterinary surgeon. He also works behind the camera as a programme producer and has written 12 books on animal care and welfare. He has worked in veterinary practice (mainly dogs, cats and horses) and was the RSPCA's chief veterinary advisor for three and a half years (2007 - 2010). He is also an accomplished amateur engineer.

His TV career started in 1990 when he complained about an item on TV-am that made fun of fat pets, and was invited as a guest on the show giving advice to the owner of an obese cat.
He has since fronted over 1,000 shows,[1] including shows based around pets, gardens and vehicles.

In 1999, he co-devised the workshop-based "Is Born" format for Discovery Networks Europe. Since then, he has co-produced and presented ten series for Discovery Home & Leisure (now Discovery Real Time). The shows have transmitted in over 70 countries around the world.
