Market Post Tower

Market Post Tower, also known as the Gold Building, is a 15 story, 289,000 square foot (27,000 m²) building in downtown San Jose, California. Built in 1985, Market Post Tower was designed to provide a mix of office and retail space. When first built, the building caused some controversy due to its glass high light and heat reflection. ^[1]In its early years, the owners struggled financially with the property and were forced to put it up for sale in 1987. ^[2][3] While the intended tenants did not materialize, the building proved popular with Internet-related businesses, such as MAE-West, causing to the building to house what is considered "the world's best known Internet centre point." ^[4] This trend quickly snowballed, as peering and network service providers sought space adjacent to other providers.^{[citation needed]}

Market Post Tower still has some traditional office and retail tenants, but most of its space is currently leased by network service, peering, and colocation providers. The building was purchased in 2000 by The Carlyle Group, which further enhanced the building's network infrastructure, and now advertises it as a "multi-tenant carrier neutral telecom facility." It is currently managed by CRG West who handles the tenant leases within the building.^{[citation needed]}

San Jose's first public nude sculpture is located at the Market Post Building. ^[5]

The building is located at 55 S Market Street, at the corner of Post Street.
