The Maryland Air National Guard First Sergeant Ribbon is an award that may be awarded to members of the Maryland Air National Guard under the following guidelines:
- Must have been assigned to a First Sergeant position for at least three years.
- Must have attended the Air National Guard First Sergeant Academy.
Award of this ribbon is not automatic upon completion of the three year assignment. Commanders will submit only those individuals whose professional conduct as a non-commissioned officer and demonstrated leadership qualities as a First Sergeant are exceptional such as: enhanced personnel readiness; provided personal assistance to unit members and their families; provided sound advise to commander on health, esprit de corps, discipline, mentoring, well-being, career progression, recognition and professional development of all assigned enlisted members; proactive in performance of duties, demonstration of initiative and innovation as a First Sergeant.
The award of the ribbon is retroactive to those who have previously served.
Only one ribbon per individual will be authorized. Other than the silver colored diamond, no other devices will be affixed to this ribbon.

The ribbon consists of a plain blue field with a silver diamond device centered.
