Matías Agustín Silvestre (born September 25, 1984 in Mercedes, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine footballer who plays for Catania Calcio on loan from Boca Juniors[1].

Silvestre made his debut for Boca on March 23, 2003 in a 3-1 win over Lanus.

His first season at Catania was not so great as he was not part of then-coach Silvio Baldini's starting XI, but since has been a very influential part Catania's first team. He has been solid in defence, for the past two seasons, and this season has formed an admirable partnership with compatriot Nicolás Spolli.
