Matlab (Bengali: মতলব) is an Upazila of Chandpur District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh.

Matlab is located at 23°21′00″N 90°42′30″E / 23.3500°N 90.7083°E . It has 76,266 registered housing units and a total land area 409.22 km².

As of 1991[update] Bangladesh census, Matlab had a population of 445,607. Males constitute 49.31% of the population, females 50.69%. Matlab has an average literacy rate of 36.1% (7+ years), the national average being 32.4%.[1]
