Matsukura Katsuie (松倉 勝家?, 1598 – August 28, 1638) was a Japanese daimyo of the early Edo period. The son of Matsukura Shigemasa, Katsuie was a rather hated lord whose cruelty helped cause the Shimabara Rebellion. He was renowned for dressing disobedient peasants in straw raincoats and then setting them on fire. Although the rebellion was successfully put down he was invited to commit seppuku (ritual suicide to gain back his honor) due to his mismanaging of the situation. His banner was black bands on a red background.
