[edit] Evile

In 2000, Drake and Ben Carter got together to form a covers band. After acquiring Mike Alexander (bass) through an ad in a local guitar store, plus asking Matt's brother Ol Drake to join as lead guitarist, they played shows together over the next few years.

In 2004, they formed Evile. They recorded an EP All Hallows Eve in 2004 and a demo Hell Demo in 2006. Soon after, the band signed to Earache Records, and released their Flemming Rasmussen produced debut, Enter the Grave worldwide.

Drake plays and endorses Jackson Guitars, Randall Amplifiers, Ernie Ball Strings and Seymour Duncan pickups.[1]

[edit] Influences

Drake's biography cites his favourite vocal artists as James Hetfield, Tom Araya, Warrel Dane and Freddie Mercury. He also states his favourite guitarists to be James Hetfield, Slash, Brian May and Alex Skolnick.
