Matt Flynn (born May 23, 1970),[1] is currently the drummer of the band Maroon 5 . Originally the substitute drummer for the band, he took over after the departure of Ryan Dusick, who left the band due to wrist and shoulder injuries. Matt was previously a Yamaha Drum Artist, but now endorses Ludwig drums, Zildjian cymbals and Vater drumsticks. On June 5, 2007, Flynn's girlfriend gave birth to their second child, named Michael Ford Flynn. His elder daughter is named Ryan.[2] He recently recorded a new album with Maroon 5.
Matt has previously played drums for both The B-52's and Gavin DeGraw.
