Matthias Alexander Kristian Zimmermann (* 6 May 1981 in Basel) is a media artist from Switzerland.

Biography[edit]

Matthias Zimmermann was born in Basel, in the canton of Aargau. He studied at the University of Arts Berne Music/Composition, at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts Fine Art at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences Game Design und Art Education.[1] His artworks become a great reception in international exhibitions, for example in Art Museum of Aarau[2] and at the Art Museum of Lucerne.[3] Many authors wrote reflexive and scientific texts about Matthias Zimmermann in Epistemology,[4] virtual representation of space, Video game art, atmospheric design and Japanese Garden design.[5]
