Mayfair is a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is located in Region 8[dated info].
Although designated a white area under apartheid, Indians began moving into Mayfair some time before the end of apartheid.
Today Mayfair has a large Indian population, along with a significant number of Muslim immigrants from the rest of Africa.
