Mechanikal Element Foundation is an electronic dance music collective. While Mechanikal Element consists of artists and producers of many electronic dance music genres, they are most well known for their work in drum and bass[citation needed].
The label was founded in 2003 by Randal Knight (a.k.a. Random Acts) and Nathaniel Hinds(a.k.a. Mechanikz), two like-minded individuals who shared a common goal: Propel stateside drum and bass to the same level it is in the UK and in Europe. Since then, they have been responsible for bringing numerous notable drum and bass artists to the Gulf Coast. Such names include Makoto, DJ Silver, Gridlok, Chris Renegade, Concord Dawn, and many others from the biggest labels in drum and bass[weasel words] (Metalheadz, Virus Recordings, Violence Recordings, and Renegade Hardware to name a few).
