A Media Convergence Server (MCS) is a proprietary hardware product sold by Cisco Systems. These are usually rebranded servers made by HP and IBM. The goal of Media Convergence Servers is to provide a standard hardware platform for Cisco's Unified Communications products such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Unity. They typically feature dual CPUs, RAID level 1, and dual power supplies.
