Meja Tehsil

Meja Tehsil is one of a tehsil of Allahabad district and it is 8 km from Meja Road railway station. Meja is located on Coordinates: 25°8'36"N 82°6'6"E.

Meja connects with Koraon from the south and Manda from the east. It is an education, financial and health center for near by areas like Koraon, Manda, uruwa, Meja Road and connected with the major city Allahabad and Mirzapur by road.

Meja has given a Prime Minister to the country, Vishwanath Pratap Singh who was seventh Prime Minister of India and the 41st Raja Bahadur of Manda. Meja is fully facilitated with a cyber cafe, post office, hospitals, phone booths, banks, ATMs and very well connected with all major network providers. According to the 2001 census Meja has total population 471,851. It has its police station in vicinity.

Meja had contributed a major role in country independence under King Manda.

Crops[edit]

The Tehsil Meja is mainly an agricultural Tehsil in which the main crops are wheat and rice. Some area is cultivated under pulses also like Arhar, Urad and Chana. The principal sources of irrigation are canals and tubewells.
