Officially Yerevan Scientific Research Institute of Mathematical Machines (YerSRIMM) (Armenian: Երևանի Մաթեմատիկական Մեքենաների Գիտահետազոտական Ինստիտուտ (ԵրՄՄԳՀԻ)), commonly known as Mergelyan Institute (Armenian: Մերգելյան Ինստիտուտ), is a scientific research institute and the pioneer of the IT and software industry in the Republic of Armenia. It is located in the Yerevan Automated Control Systems Scientific Research Institute on Hakobyan street of Arabkir district. It was founded in 1956 by the initiative of the Academy of Sciences of the Armenian SSR and the efforts of the scientist and academician Sergey Mergelyan.[1]
