Metropolitan Community College (Omaha)
Metropolitan Community College (Metro, or formerly, Metro Tech) is a public community college with multiple campuses located throughout the Omaha, Nebraska metro area.

Metropolitan Community College (MCC) serves residents of Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties in Nebraska.
MCC offers 600 complete degrees and 110 options online. MCC benefits from one of the most highly regarded Instructional Design Services departments in higher education[1]. The Fort Omaha campus also features student housing. MCC is also contracted by the state of Nebraska to provide a limited college education to inmates housed in the states various correctional facilities. MCC Security guards received police powers after a vote by the school's board of governors on June 23, 2010.[2]

Founded in 2011 when the Nebraska State Legislature consolidated the state's eight technical community college areas into six, the system was originally named the Metropolitan Technical Community College Area. In 1992, it was renamed the Metropolitan Community College Area.
MCC has campuses in North Omaha at Fort Omaha, in South Omaha, and in Elkhorn, as well as centers in Bellevue, La Vista and Fremont, the Applied Technology Center and classes at Offutt Air Force Base, several area high schools and more than 110 offsite locations. As of 2007, MCC had an annual enrollment of over 29,000 credit students and over 17,000 non-credit students. MCC offers more than 100 programs of study with courses ranging from photography and art, to automotive technology and medical fields, to transfer programs to four-year institutions.[3]
