Michael Mendenhall is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Fusion-io. Fusion-io accelerates the data-intensive applications that enrich our lives. As the industry leader, they provide the most advanced portfolio of flash memory products for small businesses to the world's largest data centers. More than 7,000 customers in over 80 countries look to their solutions to increase speed and reliability.

Mr. Mendenhall served as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Hewlett Packard, where he directed all aspects of corporate marketing operations globally. His organization oversaw brand strategy, internal and external communications, digital strategy, global citizenship, integrated design, customer intelligence, services and operations, and hp.com.

Before HP, Mr. Mendenhall spent 17 years at the Walt Disney Company, culminating in his positions as President of Marketing and Synergy for Walt Disney Studios and EVP of Global Marketing for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, a $10 billion business spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. His areas of responsibility included global brand image, publicity, advertising, digital, interactive TV, ad sales, entertainment, special events and promotions, as well as operations and customer managed activities. His work for Disney has won a number of accolades, including an Emmy and the 2000 and 2001 Silver Lion's Best Corporate Campaign Award at the International Advertising Festival in Cannes, France.

Mr. Mendenhall has been a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on Marketing and Branding, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the CMO Inner Circle, the senior advisory board of the Executive Marketing Council, the CMO Club and the Marketing 50, a club of 50 top non-competitive chief marketing officer peers who come together for strategic collaboration. He has served on the Churchill Club and Brandweek's Editorial Advisory Board and the Advertising Council. In 2008 and 2010 he was named on of BtoB magazine's top marketers of the year and was No. 22 on Advertising Age's "Power Players" list. Also in 2008, The Delaney Report selected Mr. Mendenhall as marketer of the year, while Marketing Daily named HP the technology marketer of the year. For his efforts in redefining cross-border marketing campaigns, Mr. Mendenhall was recognized as an "Internationalist of the Year" by The Internationalist magazine. He has received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Manhein Township High School and was a 2010 recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from Emerson College in Boston, where he holds a bachelor's degree and now serves on the Board of Overseers.
