[edit] Will Inman

Will Inman (born February 6, 1987 in Danville, Virginia) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball.

Prior to playing professionally, he attended Tunstall High School in Dry Fork, Virginia. He was drafted in the third round of the 2005 amateur draft by the Milwaukee Brewers, beginning his professional career that season. He split the year between the Helena Brewers and AZL Brewers, going a combined 6-0 with a 1.91 ERA in 14 games (five starts). He struck out 59 batters in 47 innings of work. In 2006, he pitched for the West Virginia Power, going 10-2 with a 1.71 ERA in 23 games (20 starts) and striking out 134 batters in 11023 innings of work.

Before the 2007 season, Baseball America named Inman the 91st best baseball prospect. He began the season in the Brewers organization, playing for the Brevard County Manatees and Huntsville Stars. However, on July 25, he was traded with Joe Thatcher and minor leaguer Steve Garrison for relief pitcher Scott Linebrink. He finished the season with the San Antonio Missions in the Padres system. Overall, he went 8-11 with a 3.28 ERA in 28 games started, striking out 180 batters in 15913 innings.

He pitched for the Missions again in 2008, going 9-8 with a 3.52 ERA in 28 starts, striking out 140 batters in 13513 innings. His 2009 season was split between the Missions and Portland Beavers, and he went a combined 7-9 with a 4.79 ERA in 27 starts. He began the 2010 season with the Portland Beavers.[2]

On November 22, 2011, Inman signed a minor league contract with the Boston Red Sox.

Anthony Ranaudo (born September 9, 1989 in Jackson, New Jersey) is a professional baseball player drafted in the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft by the Boston Red Sox.[4] He is listed as 6'7" and 225 lbs.[5]

Ranaudo was one of four children born to Angelo and Sharon Ranaudo.[6] He attended St. Rose High School in Belmar, New Jersey, where also played basketball and was president of the student council. Amassing numerous awards as a standout pitcher, Ranaudo was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 2007 MLB draft upon graduation, but did not sign a contract. He was a New York Yankees fan growing up.[7]

Ranaudo attended Louisiana State University. He pitched for 2008, 2009, and 2010 Tigers. Entering his junior season in 2010, Anthony was seen by many as one of the top pitchers coming into the draft.[8] However, Ranaudo missed five weeks of the season due to an elbow injury.[9] He had a standout year in 2009, third in NCAA strikeouts and was a critical player in the Tiger's College World Series Victory.[10] However, upon returning from the elbow injury in 2010, his numbers nor performance were the same as the previous year.[10]

Ranaudo also pitched twice in the Cape Cod Baseball League. After his freshman year he pitched for the Y-D Red Sox and then for the Brewster Whitecaps following his junior year. Ranaudo dominated during his tenure with the Whitecaps, pitching to a 3-0 record, without giving up a run in 29.2 innings of 31/8 K/BB pitching.[11]

Ranaudo was selected 39th overall in the supplemental first round of the 2010 MLB Draft. He signed with the Red Sox for a $2.55 million signing bonus just shortly before the signing deadline on August 16, 2010.[12] Anthony was assigned first to the Red Sox minor league affiliate Lowell Spinners where he will not pitch in 2010.[7]
