The Military Intelligence Unit (reporting name: MIU) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) is the intelligence arm of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). MIU is headquartered in Accra, Greater Accra.[1] MIU operates under the Security and Intelligence Agencies Act 1996 (ACT 526).[2]

The MIU is composed of all uniformed officers who are tasked with gathering the offensive counter-insurgence intelligence, identifying and eliminating sleeper cells, foreign agents and other anti GAF (Ghana Armed Forces) elements within Ghana, and investigation of military espionage.[2] Further information on the special operations of the MIU is classified.[2]
