(Redirected from Minister for Mercantile Marine (Greece))
The Ministry for Maritime Affairs, Islands and Fisheries of Greece (Greek: Υπουργείο Θαλάσσιων Υποθέσεων, Νήσων και Αλιείας) resulted from the merger of the Ministry for Mercantile Marine (Υπουργείο Εμπορικής Ναυτιλίας), founded in 1936, and the Ministry for the Aegean (Υπουργείο Αιγαίου), founded in 1985. The two ministries were merged in 2007 to form the Ministry for Mercantile Marine and Island Policy.
The latter was abolished on 6 October 2009 but re-established under its new name on 7 September 2010. The ministry was again abolished on 17 June 2011 and merged with the Ministry for Regional Development and Competitiveness.[1]
